After the expense of having trees removed, why leave unappealing tree stumps in their place? Stump grinding is less expensive than stump removal and it eliminates the disturbance of the ground. We can remove most stumps using one of our powerful stump grinders. Depending on the machine we use, we can remove stumps from 10cm to 30cm below ground level. The machine’s teeth reduce the stump to woodchips, mixing it with soil as it goes. We then backfill the hole created by the grinding arisings. The grinding waste will decay over time to leave a level surface to either re-plant or landscape the area.

Occasionally it is not possible to get our stump grinding machines to the stump. If this is the case, we can treat the stump with herbicides to prevent regrowth. Depending on your requirements, we can either apply a small amount of herbicide to the live tissue on the cut surface of the stump or alternatively, in areas where children play or there may be aminals we can drill the stump and insert an herbicide plug that will safely release the herbicide into the stump and over time the stump will simply decay.
